Web Site Sneak Preview - Click here to download information and screen shots about how the new school district Web site is designed. On Saturday, March 7, Ankeny Community Schools will launch a new Web site. The URL (web address) of the new site will remain the same as our current site: www.ankenyschools.org.

AHS Spring Show Choir Spectacular - The Spectacular will be held this weekend in the auditorium: Friday - 7:30 pm; Saturday - 7:30 pm; and Sunday - 2:00 pm. The show will feature the three AHS show choirs, including the award winning Visual Adrenaline. Ankeny's own "Skim Milk" will perform as well as a number of high school soloists. Friday night's performance will include a bonus performance of the AHS Jazz Band as a prelude. And bonus performances of Northview's show choirs, " Watts" and "Internal Combustion" will be part of Saturday's show. Tickets are $10.00. Purchase tickets in the Activities Office at Ankeny High School before 3:00 pm on Friday or at the auditorium ticket booth prior to the performances.
Drivers Education Information Now Available on the Web - Learn more about class dates, registration, forms and more.
K-12 Student Art Show - Student art will be on display at the Ankeny Arts Center March 12th – March 26th  2009.  A reception for selected artists will be held on Thursday, March 12th, from 5:00 - 6:00 pm (Elementary Artists) and 6:30 - 7:30 pm (Secondary Artists).

AP Testing Deadline March 13 - Advanced Placement Exams will be offered at AHS and students taking AP courses were provided with registration materials Feb. 11. The State of Iowa will now pay for half of all AP Exams, so students will now pay $43 per exam. AP Testing allows students to earn college credits and provides an opportunity to prepare for college testing.

Following registration, students will be required to attend a preadministration session in late April. Details of this session and testing will be mailed home to parents in mid-April.

AHS Offers ACT Prep Course - AHS will offer an ACT prep course prior to the April 4 ACT exam. A total of five evening sessions over Mathematics, Science Reasoning, Reading and English will be held in the AHS Media Center. Students should sign up in the AHS Guidance Office by March 6 and pay the $10 registration fee. Make checks to Ankeny High School

Ankeny Spring Show Choir Spectacular will be held March 5-8.  Tickets are $10.00 and all seats will be reserved.  

  • Friday, March 6th through Sunday, March 8th tickets are Senior High School nights and the tickets will be on sale in the High School Activities Office as of 7:00 am, Monday, March 2nd.
  • Thursday through Saturdays performances are at 7:30 pm and Sunday at 2:00pm.  If you are a school employee, you may receive one free ticket with the purchase of one or more tickets.  If you have any questions, please contact the High School Activities Office at 963-4335.
